First and foremost this is a guest review from an old fetishist & kinkster, so normal rules don't apply - be kind with the criticisms!
From a vanilla point of view, this is an OK movie - I'd be pissed if I spend $9 to see it, but I'd be pretty happy if I got it from NetFlix. There were many chicks in hot outfits, a couple of very hot "fetishy" scenes and some lesbian scenes (if you're into that sort of thing).

My Normal is a very likable, relatively well done movie about a NYC Dominatrix who tries to break into the movie business. Lets get a one thing out of the way first:
Nicole LaLiberte - the protagonist - is stunning - and that's coming from someone who doesn't even like redheads! She alone makes the whole movie work!
She is a dominatrix who's working for an incredibly upscale dungeon in NYC where the phones are ringing off the hook and the girls are turning down business. Oh, and she is also a lesbian who has relationship problems with her lover and "mom problems" just like every other... ahem... lesbian out there. OK - whatever.
There are a couple of pretty hot S&M scenes. In one she meets a client for a public humiliation,
(clip) scene in a park - I've done some scenes that were similar in nature and this hit very close to home. Her outfits (and legs) are spectacular!!
In the other, she abuses a movie producer
(clip) and, while I had a hard time believing his character, I totally believed hers. There are a bunch of scenes in the "dungeon" where the girls are chatting between the sessions - with way too many dildo shots (but I guess you have to show that so that we know its about sex industry). Oh, and the movie begins with a "scene" - she and two friends are schoolgirls who are scolded by the principal and who turn the tables on him! The movie ends with her producing a movie which has the same scene, but now she is the producer and not one of the girls. <ahem> - Clever! And here is the last scene

Overall, for what it is, the movie is good. The dialogue, while forced at times, is OK, the ladies are hot, the plot is believable and when tossed with hot fetish/S&M scenes, its quite watchable for "us". Two "fetish" thumbs from me.

Aarkey's mini review: It's a fun 70 minute film with solid "B-movie" production values, pretty actresses, good humor and some nice kink settings. It's a bit over the top in a few places, but isn't campy or slapstick. It takes it self just barely seriously, which balances out well - and while the acting definitely has it's B-movie moments, the lead actress does a great domme mode - every bit as hot as some pros I've scened with.
From a fetish point of view, the lead actress knows how to
doll it up, smokes
cigarettes,
pot and even
cigars with style; and throws around a few solid
HoH moments.
Overall, it's definitely a fun watch, but quite short and ends overly abruptly. One important warning, I don't think you'll convince anyone that you aren't a kinkster if you try to pass this off as "
some interesting film I found on netflix," just to get them to watch it ;)
It's a weird little movie, nothing special (aside from Poppy's constant smoking) and I can't go recommending it, even as a date nighter. But for a smoking fetishist, it's a good flick, though not a great one. On the plus side, Poppy's a looker, and her character is a rarity - a heavy smoker and yet, not a drug addicted murderer or prostitute! Poppy is clearly an IRL'r, and has a great style. The editing could've been a lot nicer from a smoking fetishist point of view, but all in all the quantity of smoking makes up for it a lot IMO :)
