It's been a while since I posted a little daily distraction, so I figured I'd dig one up. This dominatrix, Lady Carla, was the first professional domme who I ever remember dreaming about. If you're a comic book fan, I don't need to tell you - but for the rest of the readers - Cosplay is short for "costume play." And next weekend is the superbowl of Cosplay, because the world's largest annual geek pilgrimage is San Diego's - Comic Con.
Each year it is held in SD, and each year it gets bigger and busier. Tickets are tougher to get, and it is lots more expensive. Plus every year, it seems to get a little more wild, more and more models - mainstream and fetish/adult.
All in all, it is one of the greatest geek events. And proof that us geeks know how to have a good time, in case the Daft Punk girls hadn't proven that already.
I have never been to it. I have thought about it, even looked into it. But the truth is, I'm not a big comic book geek. Actually I'm not a comic book guy at all. I only have ever had a few of them, and half of them were bought for me by an ex-girlfriend of mine who was fascinated by Catwoman (but that's another blog entry I think.) But as a geek (mostly video gaming, but also D&D back in middle school) I was around a lot of folks who got into this stuff hardcore.
But the main reason I know about Comic Con is because of the hotness of Cosplay. Each year the number of attractive women attending these type of events are all about the dressing up in some super sexy fetish costumes. And just so you know, while San Diego is the biggest ComicCon, it's definitely not the only one. There's one in NYC each year, another in Orlando. As comic heros keep moving into movies and TV, the overlap grows.
And the women coming to these events now are often wearing some really elaborate outfits to the convention, and if you've seen comics... some are VERY fetish friendly and mainstream kink absolutely abounds. Plus, because of the movie-tv-comic overlap, the number of characters are growing, and now more and more you're seeing cartoon characters, video game characters. The budget & imagination are the only limits.
Plus, as Steampunk grows, you see more and more of that. And I do LOVE how the 90s goth scene has evolved into Steampunk. It just super cool and imaginative and makes me wish I was 22 again, both corset size and age ;)It's all good fun, and I definitely think I'll make it to one someday - though my temptation to dress as Dr. Girlfriend will probably require that I plan my outfit well enough in advance. For those who don't know, Dr. Girlfriend is a super hot woman character on the TV show "Venture Brothers" - the reason she'd be perfect, she has a definitively man's voice, so with me in that... it would be a double or maybe triple gender bend, with a twist!
And for the ladies out there, who aren't in the know - I highly recommend watching this PSA video before you pick your outfit. Plus you never know when model Adrianne Curry did it, and she's some really tough competition. Hrm, I probably should just do a blog entry about her, because Mrs. Peter Brady is one seriously fun and smoking hot kinky geeky woman. Or at least that's the vibe I get ;)
Anyway, the series sets shown here are are my personal favorite Cosplay costumes, I'm sure you'll be able to figure out why.

I prefer a device for several reasons but my explanation is simple - in fact, I can not be trusted to stay chaste. I am just not well enough disciplined. In the middle of the night, groggy from lack of sleep, I'll cheat at some point. It has happened only once, but I know it can.
With a device, it can't. And I also like knowing that it can't. If I'm choosing to behave myself, I still have a choice. I prefer not to have that choice, and a custom device, with a second lock running through a piercing makes that a reality. It also makes me feel an attachment to my key holder. There is a constant reminder (well semi-constant) that I am involved in a D/s relationship. And that's a wonderful thing. Most every activity I do has her presence in my life in my mind.
But I think that my explanation is rather boring when compared to the ways that I've heard some Mistresses explain why they keep their boys locked up - (and I am paraphrasing)
One Mistress said that she prefers the use of a chastity device because saying "You will not masturbate, isn't the same as saying you can not masturbate."
