The wifey and I almost went to the theaters to see this flick 4 times, and never did. We did watch it this weekend though, and while it was visually awesome, the plot was obviously an after thought.
Even though I'm a geek, I actually never saw the original Tron, so I wasn't super driven to see this one for it's legacy follow up. Actually the big thing that caught my eye were promo shots of Olivia Wilde in her costume.
And after that, I wasn't overly concerned if the plot was lacking. Even though it felt like the dumber step brother of The Matrix in a half dozen ways. What's more, Olivia looks a lot like our friend, HeatC, who visited in May 2010. The fact that HC cut her hair pageboy style to intentionally like Olivia's, and that didn't hurt the resemblance ;)Anyway, if you want to see some more Olivia looking yummy, you can go Google it yourself, or you can just click these little sun pictures and be satisfied with what I've given ya:

I watched Tron in the "mancave" on my humongous flat screen with the 7-1 surround sound and I was like, whoa baby, this is a cool flick!
Certainly not cinema, but very fun.
And Olivia was definitely cute and big time hot.
Can there be a Tron II?? I think not. The digital world is all blown up. Pity...
Oh, I'm sure they could make a Tron2, all you need for the digital world is a reboot ;)
But... did they make enough $ on it to return to it again? I'm not sure about that.
I saw the original Tron when it came out decades ago, and I think it still might be a notch better than Tron Legacy, though to me both movies are guilty of similar flaws (plot, script, pacing, etc.).
I've read via ign.com that Tron Legacy made a fair amount of cash, and there are rumors of another one coming (the next one would be Tron 3, by the way). I can picture a sequel involving the actual internet next time around (as opposed to Flynn's private server in Tron Legacy), but I don't have much faith in a strong story ever being attached to these moves.
And by the way, Olivia Wilde is a smoker. Woohoo!
Definitely on my must rent list. Blu-ray only please...
Spider: Thanks for the post and I'm sure if they made enough $ when everything is said and done that they'll churn out another. One thing about having it all in a computer world, a lot can all be done w/o that many actors.
And if Olivia is a smoker, well then I might have to research it a bit ;)

HMP: I still haven't bothered with bluray. We have an HD here and a non-HD and with an HD signal I can't tell the difference. Maybe my old eyes are going ;)

I have become a Blu-ray fetishist. Your TV has to have the right specs though; 1080p I think. Our friends bought us the Blu-ray player first and said; "this is the most expensive gift you will ever get!" They were right about that (had to get the hardware to go with it!) but I have never regretted it. The picture detail is just incredible! Also the surround sound system is a must! Meanwhile our friends have moved on to 3D. I think I will hold off on that and just watch it at their house. This stuff never ends! :-p
Mine's a 1080i too - and it's a great picture, but I can't see the difference from one TV to the other. The higher quality broadcast definitely matters, but it doesn't matter from one TV to another for me.
Plus I tend to stream download everything these days.
OK: Have fun surfing, there are a good number of hot pics out there of Olivia. Though there could always be more ;)
I haven't seen Legacy yet, but one thing is clear - I do need to see more of Olivia!!
