A little bit of leg work

Aarkeybabble : A little photoshop can be worse than none at allI'm going "under the knife" today a bit of arthroscopic poking on my left knee. Nothing too dramatic, I have "complex tears of the mediolateral meniscus" - at least that's what the MRI showed. It's been generally livable up until Oct, when it just started swelling up massively at random, and aside from being very unsightly it just was tough to walk. Of course every time I went to see the doc the swelling was down, and even with the MRI date it was feeling as good as ever. Up til last Friday when I went in for the last pre-op visit and the doc did a double take at how swollen it was. I sure hope (and expect) him to be a better artist than whomever did the photoshop job on that pic. ;)

Of course I got a scrip for some good pain killers... too bad I try to use as few as possible and hate pain killers anyway. So if I'm MIA for a couple days, ya'll behave now, ya hear?

Thanks OK. So far I'm doing better than I imagined.

My stomach is a bit upset today - but I'm sure if I can refrain from taking any more heavy meds (no meds at all now incl. aspirin, since 10 PM last night) that it'll settle.

I hope you feel better soon buddy. As far as I'm concerned "minor surgery" is an oxymoron. I do like the meds though. I can see why House enjoys his vicodin. Yeah I know I'm sober but a guy has to have some reward for being in pain! :-p

Anyway...I digress. Get well soon! ;-)

Best wishes

HMP

P.S.

Coloic? I know you don't have that! Babies get coloic don't they? Last time I checked you weren't weren't *that* kind of pervert! ;-)

OMG the next one is even better!

Disess?

O.k. I'm going now. Feel better. Really....

Oh how I truly hate surgery! Funny thing is, it mostly seems to work!

The wife had a shoulder procedure recently and I became the visiting nurse! :-)

Be a good patient will ya? And have a speedy recovery!

Will PT involve heels?

HMP: Thanks. I'm recovering pretty well I think - but I'll know for sure better on Monday when I see the doc for the follow up.

Personally I hate the meds. I hate the stupid dull feeling, and I have 29 of the 30 vicodin's left from this scrip. Plus I've seen the consequences all too often from people like me. No matter how many miles removed from home, some feel dragged back there after surgery, and die there not too long after.

I've seen it a few times first hand. Very sad to watch.

So I'm glad I'm not like you or House. Plus, House is an asshole. :P

Advo: I've done my best to be a good patient. Which mostly includes just biting my tongue and being nice while others try to nurse. Generally I'm the "wounded dog" type - just leave me alone til I feel better. That's what works best for me.

And heels... hopefully down the road a bit. I doubt on doctor's orders, but ya never know.

One thing for sure, I'd never had a big black dude shave my leg before.

Not sure I want to have it again either, all kinds of razor burn.
