Don't go saying all the good costumes are taken too - just think a little bit creatively, and make a statement :)

It's in the way that you use it... language that is.
Right around the time of the implosion, the admin of the forum banned political discussions. Normally I just ignored those threads, but they were so pervasive, and the venom was spilling out of the threads into the rest of the forum. So I posted about how that wasn't the focus of the forums, and I hoped only to reign it in a bit, so that instead of 80% of the discussions being about politics, reduce it to 50% or 25% - so that other topics could at least be found. But that didn't happen, and the admin shut it all down. And frankly I screwed up and gloated a bit about it. I think I already had raised the ire of the folks who were the political mud-slingers (and that seemed to be all that the political threads were) - since I was so public about my frustration with the threads, and then after the admin banned it... well, I got some angry PMs and some angry messages.
I would've hoped it'd boil over after a bit, but the political mudslingers had no home now, and instead were just running around the board and needlessly attacking just about anyone who didn't agree with their opinions. In all there are only 4 of them, but they obviously have a lot of free time, and post pretty much around the clock. Which is pretty amazing, and well... a bit sad. I mean, I'm online a ton, and I work online, and I work for myself, and even I don't have that much time for babbling.
Unfortunately, I'm too busy for much else...
In this video, a group of attractive and relatively normally dressed young women - most wearing skirts and high heeled boots (nothing super kinky/fetishy) all gather around another young woman wearing a very smart looking outfit. The speaker calmly talks as the group comes up and fills up the room.
And FWIW, I personally HATE fire play. I hate heat in general. I don't even like the idea of hot potato! I have no brands - I never ever once thought it was sexy... before seeing this, that is. Wow. I wonder if it was a lifestyle thing, or what.
I figured I'd show off a little something I threw together. Someone posted a picture of this cutie - Portia Watson.
if you want something steam punk that you can put your hands on, buy or rent the DVD (netflix carries it).
With the sudden spike of women wearing spikes, we're seeing more and more articles and videos about how to walk in high heels. Some are overly complicated and some too technical. I think balanced and personal is probably the most helpful approach. Whatever you do, remember that you have to give it time. If you haven't been practicing and learning to wear heels for years, chances are that it's going to be much tougher to adjust to it - and it is also going to be tougher on your feet.

Even the WSJ is reporting on it - "Women Fall Head Over Heels for Shoe Makers' Arch Designs Six-Inch Spikes Are Painfully Hot Trend; A Balancing Act That Makes Models Cry"
This latest fad is being credited in part to Gwyneth Paltrow's comeback. Both the LA Times and the NY Daily News had articles with pictures of Gwyneth (and blaming or crediting her for igniting a craze) by wearing out 5" and 6" heels both as Pepper Potts her character in the movie, Iron Man - and to all of the premieres too. The UK Daily Mail reported that she even wore 7" platforms by little-know designer Pacini. Yowza! And then reports that "The Gwyneth Effect" had caused a full 35% increase in super high heel sales in the UK. One thing for sure, some of her shoes were pretty darn fetishy. Either way, it's clear that extremely high stiletto heels, are all the rage - WOOT!
It used to be that really high heels were something that only shorter women would wear. I'm told that was in large part so that they weren't taller than the male peers. And as I am 5'10" even at a fancy dinners or events, I was almost always as tall as all of the women. At least 95% of them. Yet, this past labor day, when I was at a convention banquet the change was staring me right in the face. I think that I was about eye to eye with half the women (within 1 or 2" taller or short) but of the other half - as many were taller than I was, as were shorter. I would estimate that 75% of the women were wearing heels 3" or higher, and probably 50% of them were in 4" or higher. And that's just all kinds of hot IMO.
The latest thing that's come out of it all are what I'm calling "un-heels" - and though most fetishists seemed to first notice the concept last month when Victoria Beckham wore a pair of latex leggings with shoe platforms glued to the front of them - however the first pair of "unheels" that I ever saw were actually on Gwyneth, shown above. I also have to admit, I'm not sure I like them. I kinda find the heel itself fascinating. There's an interesting dichotomy to really high heels. Yes, they are tougher to walk in, that makes them something in the realm of women. They're undoubtedly sexy, the whole sway of heels and the longer leg and the perch of the behind. They arch the foot in a position that is similar to what happens during orgasm.
What's more, high heels are dangerous. Not the twist the ankle of the wearer... (yah I know those things happen) but if they step on you. Ouch! That does hurt. I remember a woman who accidentally stepped on my big toe while wearing high heels and instantly I had a dead toe nail. Take a careful look at the wood or even marble floors at a place where women wear heels - like a high end office building, or restaurant. The floor is pocked up from the impact of the high heels.
They're frickin' weapons. Weapons of female dominance. Well they can be at least... I guess not always. Since they are tough to run in, it would take a whole group of women to corner and trap me if they are wearing high heels. With that said, can anyone point me to such a group of women, please?
I wonder how this kind of research would come out if it were specifically applied to BDSM & Fetishism.
A lot of teenagers develop their sexuality with pornography, and then find that relational sex isn't as satisfying, Weiss said. Porn gives them a "very strong chemical hit," and alters ways of thinking about sex, somewhat like the classic "ring the bell, feed the dog" stimulus-response mechanism. Addicts thus learn to become sexually attached to objects, and have trouble getting the same kind of satisfaction from sex in a relationship, he said."

First off - a Vampire Movie that deserves some more attention, the 1995 film, The Addiction.
Annabella smokes with the kind of abandon that you can when you are a vampire and know that smoking won't kill you. Above all that, it's an interesting film in it's own right, and I think HBO's series "True Blood" steals a bit of it's deeper concepts from it. Personally, when it comes to sexy vampire films, The Addiction is tied at the top with 1983's The Hunger.
there are a few other movies of the same name out there. This one is starring Christina Ricci as a woman who is a con woman who falls somewhere between artsy girlfriend and dominatrix - who seems to favor wearing a Cheongsam for dramatic affect - and I'll tell ya, I'm affected dramatically!
Next is the 2006 straight to video release - Submission, which I'd never heard of it until recently. It stars Simmone Mackinnon as a dominatrix, has ole Corbin Bernsen in it, and got pretty decent reviews on imdb. Though, the 3 reviews on Amazon seem to be actually be about a totally different film. *shrug*
Anyone know where I can find it for rent? Netflix & Blockbuster don't carry it, but Amazon has it, but I'm not quick to spend $20 on a DVD.
And lastly, Sex and Death 101. This is Winona Ryder's 2007 movie - which I have mentioned twice before in this blog. Sadly, it wasn't worth the wait. Winona's airtime totals about 10 minutes, and it is all so poorly filmed that I'm not surprised it was a straight to video release. I guess my long standing fantasy of a worthy movie with Noni reprising the role from this photo (at left) which was in her 1996 calendar, and turning it into an insanely smoking hot fem fatale film role will have to stay a fantasy a bit longer.
According to the Urban Dictionary, Steam Punk is defined as "A subgenre of speculative fiction, usually set in an anachronistic Victorian or quasi- Victorian alternate history setting."
So I surfed around and mined a bit more information - seeking to understand who would invest the time and energy to do something like that. And that's when I really started to learn more.
waist is closer to 20 or 21 inches. I also remember hearing about how Salma chose to wear a 20" corset to the movie's premiere.
Fortunately, Steampunk does seem to be growing in acceptance and acknowledgement. On May 8th of 2008, the New York Times had an article about it their Fashion & Style section - alternate link. I don't think that things can get more legit then the NYT ;)
The first bust was in a nice neighborhood at a "Suburban Dungeon" where they're investigating such things as "fire hazards being looked into were claims of "waxplay" in which burning candles are dripped onto a client." I wonder if they're going to start making people who buy candles to show their ID and sign a waiver that they aren't going to use them for any nefarious kinky purposes. *rolls eyes*
